They know more than you think, just look at P&SG where there is constant understandable/readable english thrown around. It's because the Japanese fans actually like shit like that. They were literally going and changing perfect English into atrocious Engrish. I recall seeing some comparison shots between TV and BD releases of MLA: Total Eclipse. Like if they do they will have to pay some hidden tax or that will slander their ancestors. Sometimes it feels like they are afraid to spell English words correctly. >One thing I always wanted to ask an eroge developer was if they realized that the vast majority of Engrish they put in their games is horribly ungrammatical and if they realized that anyone who knew English cringes upon seeing it (though I guess this precludes 99% of their readers). Kei's route in them is on par with Aoba's in my opinion, which was the best. I'd recommend ps2/psp version's of kazokei over the original PC one. I'm already set on the stuff I want to read for a while, but I'll definitely put it on the to read list now. That sounds good to me, cheers for the info. Also, if they realized that they can pretty much fix all of their spelling mistakes with 2 seconds on Google. ![]() One thing I always wanted to ask an eroge developer was if they realized that the vast majority of Engrish they put in their games is horribly ungrammatical and if they realized that anyone who knew English cringes upon seeing it (though I guess this precludes 99% of their readers). Reposting my question for the Anon that went to the Liarsoft/Innoncent Grey event:Īre you Asian so that you blended in with the crowd or are you far-west gaijin so that you stood out like a sore thumb? What are you playing? What are you looking forward to? What have you finished? You know the drill. VN General Thread Anonymous Wed Dec 5 12:32:04 2012 No. it's the title that did most of the work in making it infamous rather than anything really incredible about the game.File: 110 KB, 500x560, c748466sample1.jpg On the other hand I don't suggest anyone run out and purchuse it simply because it's become contreversial, by all accounts the game is pretty awful in of itself. I'm very, very pro-free speech (as many might know). I hope in the future this will change.Īt any rate, when it comes to Rapelay, I don't think it should have been banned given that it's a work of fantasy. The attempts so far to meet a middle ground haven't been all that successful due to censorship. Right now for games I think the problem is that typically games are either totally chaste, or non-stop sex. Sort of like say "Dragon Age: Origins" with more payoff at the end of the romance subplots. Thus you will have sex scenes (including over the top ones) when appropriate to the game and it's progression. ![]() I tend to think that the future of adult video game entertainment will be when you see regular games developed without concerns over censorship. Not my genere of choice, but as I said I am slow to dismiss an entire genere out of hand. If it's simply a visual novel/adventure game, then it tends to not be especially good, in certain cases like the cult classic "Knights Of Xentar" it can actually be fairly entertaining to the right audience. A lot of it revolves around how much gameplay there is along with all the sex. While most are garbage there are a few out there that are fairly decent, albiet a lot of them don't come to the US. I will go so far to say that while I have heard nothing really wonderful about the gameplay of THAT game in paticular, I am not so quick to insult all porn/hentai games. That should give you a pretty good impression of the game if your really curious. Here is a review of "Rapelay" from Something Awful by someone who played it for the review.
